01 Apr Opening Landscape Triennial
On April 1st 2021 the Landscape Triennial opened from the future Outdoor Museum at Landgoed Herlaer. Of course the Boompijl team launched a little present: BAM! a bunch of beautiful arrows in the middle of the new Van Gogh National Park.
Departing from the theme ‘High Green – Innovating the Landscape’, in the coming weeks, policy makers, landscape architects, nature managers and designers will share and discover a lot about the Brabant landscape of the future. We feel strongly connected to this: with our roots in Brabant, imagining new possibilities and transforming places through art is our natural state of being.
Boompijl is a guerilla project from the studio of artist Tijs Rooijakkers. An ode to skewed growth and the fighting spirit of nature. Boompijl is invasive: it grows in a different place than where it originated. Just like invasive species in nature. These often receive negative attention because they pose a threat to biodiversity. Boompijl wants to invade the landscape in a positive and creative way and slightly bend people’s lines of sight and viewing direction. Straight is crooked, more crooked growth!
So keep a close eye on the airspace. We have already planted new seeds and trees in Best, Eindhoven, Esbeek, Ermelo and … Oslo. Want to become an accomplice? Contact us.
