The Zuiderwaterlinie is an area that marks the border between Brabant and the northern half of the Netherlands, but the history of which is unknown to few people from Brabant. Rooijakker’s work “Niet vechten, maar hechten” is a symbol to depict the historical connection of the Zuiderwaterlinie and an illustration of what visual art can do for an area like the Zuiderwaterlinie.
