Caroucel The times they are a changin

Caroucel The times they are a changin, Park, tilburg, 2016

The West is in a moral crisis. After the debt and banking crisis, we’re experiencing a refugee crisis
that shakes the foundation of Europe. Right wing populism and nationalism drown political debate
with cynicism.
Grexit, Brexit, closed borders instead of open; new iron curtains need to protect us from the
‘tsunami of refugees’. Asylum seekers are mentioned the same breath alongside criminals, terrorists
and rapists. In this ‘selfie’ era, solidarity is taken over by ‘our people first’.
Rob Moonen and Rebecca Nelemans created an exhibition together with artists who express and
relate to these major social changes within their work.
